| Sea Cliff Moroccan
San Francisco, California
With the Pacific Ocean and Golden Gate Bridge as a backdrop, the remodeling
of the three-story Mediterranean-style home presented distinct challenges
and unique opportunities to the design team.
The garden redesign emphasized strengthening the internal focus around
an entry courtyard, improving privacy and taking advantage of panoramic
views of the Sea Cliff coastline. A luxuriant subtropical shade garden
and wall fountain became the courtyard’s focus, and rich Italian
marble paving linked the interior of the home. On the second floor, an
outdoor terrace and fireplace were added adjacent to the master bedroom
to take advantage of views of the Marin Headlands and the Golden Gate
Bridge. Unusual pots, hand-made tiles and distinct plants connected all
parts of the garden.
