| Owl Creek Preserve
Glen Ellen, California
This 45-acre oak woodland site overlooking Glen Ellen was designed to
create minimal impact on the land and wildlife neighbors by creating a
harmony between home and habit. The simple but elegant landscape design,
gracefully integrates the new guest house, pergola, flagstone terrace
and walkways, spa and pool features with the surrounding natural landscape
and one that could function as a preserve for the native landscape and
wildlife.
The actual landscaping, through careful grading and limiting other disturbances,
was confined to about one-half acre of the property. The remaining 39
acres of grassland, woodland and redwood groves, which hosts deer, coyotes,
wild turkeys and migratory birds, remain in an undisturbed natural state.
